Aspiring Social Entrepreneurs Compete for Cash Award

Four students, Parker Lee, Ziad Ali, Carly Kvietok and Pranav Kemburu, are preparing to compete in the UNC Social Entrepreneurship Competition in February at A&T University as part of the NC State delegation mentored by Megan Greer at Entrepreneurship Initiative and Elizabeth Benefield at the Institute for Nonprofits. Their social enterprise, Noble Nourishment focuses on reducing grocery store waste and delivering that healthy, viable food to the hands of the vulnerable, such as those in food deserts. Noble Nourishment will be one of many teams from the 16 participating campuses competing for prize money for their social venture.

“The team just scored a big boost by being selected as one of three winners in an Institute for Emerging Issues pitch competition this week. Winners participate in an NC State-sponsored leadership program and will be invited to compete for a $10,000 award for their venture,” says Elizabeth Benefield
